Workforce Housing

“Cobalt Equipment held a contract on our response to the 2019 Camp Fire Debris Removal in Butte County. As a Project Manager for SPSG Partners, my subcontractor and I constructed a 1,500 Person Basecamp to facilitate the personnel for the clean-up project. Cobalt Equipment was responsible for Personnel Check-In, Security, Room Service, and many various other services to keep the basecamp operable. Overall, SPSG was very satisfied with their service and commitment to the project. All obligations were filled, and Cobalt’s team went above and beyond in every way to ensure that our personnel were comfortable and safe. They are a competent outfit for their industry and we will seek their services for future needs.”

“Our company, Odin Construction Solutions Inc., recently had the pleasure of working with CobaltEquipment at a worker’s camp, constructed for the Paradise California wildfire cleanup. Odin was awarded the contract to develop and manage a camp, near Paradise CA, which included 1,500 beds, a full kitchen, and two recreation rooms. Once the facility was constructed, Odin needed assistance to manage all aspects of the camp. We were fortunate to have found Cobalt Equipment. Cobalt brought their many years of experience to the project and helped Odin establish everything necessary to operate the camp successfully.

Cobalt managed administrative guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, janitorial services, security, IT services, parking coordination, safety (including onsite EMT), morning and evening traffic control, and many other helpful services. Cobalt helped to establish site safety standards which met the state and federal requirements. They established and enforced a Code of Conduct for all workers staying at the camp. They also assisted Odin in acquiring all the necessary local agencies’ permit requirements.

Cobalt Equipment Inc. is a highly experienced, professional company, and their staff is well trained, polite, and a pleasure to work with. If Odin receives a similar contract in the future, Cobalt Equipment will be our first call for assistance. Odin is extremely appreciative and impressed with the work performed by Cobalt Equipment and we highly recommend them for all similar work as described above.”

“Several times during our operation, Cobalt had to rise to the challenge of assembling and disassembling our camp due to situations beyond our control. Cobalt’s team worked tirelessly to make sure orders were followed and that we were accommodated as quickly as possible. I would not hesitate to contact for services with this company in the event of another emergency, catastrophe disaster.”

Equipment

“A key component to the success of this operation was your company’s dedication to providing logistical support that kept our personnel protected from the elements. Your equipment, and your employees who set up and maintained the equipment, allowed our personnel to escape the heat, wash, eat, and confer privately beyond the eyes of neighbors and the media. My staff expressed great appreciation for your responsiveness, professionalism, and last-minute assistance when needed. Without COBALT, this operation would have been a much greater challenge than it already was.”

Project Management

“We had a telecommunication failure in the South Santa Clara County area after a group of individuals sabotaged the fiber optics communications between San Jose and Morgan Hill.

Being virtually cut off to communicate out and the rest of the world to communicate in presented some unique challenges. Not only were we cut off from our Primary Safety Answering Point, but they were cut off from receiving the initial 9-1-1 call as well. Upon discovering the information on the news of the event Rob Knabe from Cobalt placed a call to the local battalion chief that covers the Alameda County area, outside the local affected area of the outage.

Cobalt provided speedy delivery of resources and a comprehensive cache of equipment to assist in many of the functions of communications. They provided radio dispatch panels for the added staff we had respond, they were able to program ALL of the frequencies used by the local fire, law and EMS resources in the area into the Cobalt Radio System allowed us to not only to be able to dispatch those resources but the ability to patch those frequencies together so they could communicate with each other. Cobalt also provided a phone system that connected us back to the rest of the world. The system had ample phones to provide telephony to the command center and allowed us to be reconnected to all the resources that rely on us for a response. They virtually had us back online at full capacity within 2 hours.”

“I cannot thank you and your staff enough for the countless hours of time spent in planning meetings, on telephone calls and long nights worked during the event. I have challenged my staff to make each Urban Shield better than the last. I recognize the tremendous effort that it took on your part to fulfill the order that we placed with you this year. For example, I know that our order for tower power lights increased by 400% from last year. This must have been a major procurement, delivery/demobilization feat for your company. I cannot thank you enough for the supp01i and participation of Cobalt which has contributed significantly to the success of the Alameda County Sheriffs Office’s Urban Shield tactical training exercise events. I am grateful that Cobalt is one of our partners in Urban Shield.”

GIS Support Unit
“Cobalt arrived the first day of the incident and was up and running in a timely manner. The Trailer Tech, was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and always available and managed the nightly production run to be sure the numbers of prints were met, which took a burden off the GIS Staff. At the peak of the incident, map production was at an all time high and Cobalt kept up with the demand. We were never short on time due to Cobalt and even when map production ran late into the early morning, Cobalt’s plotters kept up with the demand and never failed. The trailer was climate controlled, comfortable, and had a lot of space for 7 GIS to work. I highly recommend the Cobalt Type 1 GIS Trailer to an Incident Management Team.”

Community Support
“On behalf of the Union City Police Department, we would like to thank you for being a sponsor of the UCPD’s 3rd Annual Shop with a Cop held on Saturday, December 10, 2016. With your support, the event was a great success with over 36 kids in attendance. We have received many thanks and compliments from the families who were chosen to participate this year. Many of them expressed how surprised they were by the care and concern taken to make this day special for the kids. This was all made possible by the generosity of our sponsors. We expect this event will be remembered by all the kids who participated this year. You have helped to create lasting memories and to foster better relationships with members of our community and we are very thankful for your participation and support. Thank you again and we could not have done it without you!”
